Doing it the green way
Posted on May 13th, 2009 at 9:48 pm by admin

I am Sylvia, hello everyone. We all have our interests in life and I am fascinated with all things green. I don’t mean the colour although it is nice but the eco-friendly stuff. I really love our planet and am a vegan so I try to be environmentally conscious whatever I do.

I eat only organic stuff and I try to look after my body well. My passion is yoga and I always try to choose an eco yoga mat when my old one gets a bit too tattered. Other than yoga I just try to do it in the old ways – I walk to the shops and cycle to work and use the stairs whenever I can. Me and my fiancé travel green always: we cycle mostly and even took our bikes to Spain with us. We usually stay in eco-friendly hostels or better still camp out.

I also pay attention to what I wear. You will never see me in leather or snake skin. Furs make me sick, I don’t understand how anyone can wrap a dead body around themselves. I usually buy clothes at fair-trade shops and try to support produce of the poorest regions of the world. My passion is eco friendly jewelry because it’s totally beautiful and good for the world. When my then boyfriend proposed to me he chose the prettiest of ethical engagement rings– it is never duplicated and so original. So we are getting married in spring, and guess what? Of course our wedding will be as green as green can be!

q&a: Scuzza me, Ross Taylor
Posted on May 5th, 2009 at 7:19 am by admin

Meet Ross Taylor.
Age: 25
Residence: Mount Pleasant
Occupation/background: Former drummer of the late local band The Working Title, current A.C.’s Bar and Grill bartender, and part owner of a new joint set to pop up in the Park Circle area later this year.

girls about charlestowne caught up with Ross over some chai teas at a little cafe and creamery in the neighborhood, and we got the scoop on a new venture he and a couple of other gusy — and a fierce chick — at A.C.’s have hatched up. Wait, rewind: He might not appreciate us saying he drank chai tea with us; actually, he sipped on black coffee…much more his cup of, er, tea.

Check out the video below to see what’s on Park Circle’s horizon. Hint: We think you’ll “dough” crazy about it!
